Does pewter contain lead?

Our pewter does not contain any lead.

All of our alloys are below the 100 ppm lead content that is considered safe for use with children by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.

In general, however, “Pewter” refers to a class of metal alloys that are predominantly tin-based, but being an alloy, it may contain other elements, such as lead. If unsure, check the MSDS on the material you buy or request a Certificate of Analysis.
